Hood liner cleanup
Does anyone have a suggestion on a safe way to clean the hood liner? I've tried to vacuum the liner but the dust and dirt seem embedded into the liner. I plan to paint the logo and would like to start with a clean liner.
CLICK! I know this "hood seal"; thanks for the reminder.
Sometimes I have a tendency to make things harder than they have to be.
Thanks for the advice.
Phil
A hood seal will not keep the hoodliner from getting dusty. I have both the hood seal & custom painted hoodliner [by PaulaH]. IMHO, the hood seal helps keep water from running under the hood. However, dust & dirt still gets onto the hoodliner from underneath the engine bay.
I have yet figured out how to clean my custom painted hoodliner without removing from the hood. I don't want to remove the hoodliner everytime I clean it.
Paula posted last week on how to clean your hoodliner. If I remember correctly you just pat in with a damp rag. Might want to search the threads from last week. Hope this helps.

a damp rag will leave little specs of cloth on the hoodliner, i.e. ghost turds.
If "FatFinger" is going to paint the emblem why not spray the whole liner first. I have used Krylon satin black on many of these. It give a nice fresh look to start with. Good Luck

Your right paula said ro wet a rag then squeeze it out then pat the hood liner. If the hoodliner get dull she will tell you to take the hood liner out cover the painted part really well and then use flat black spray paint to brighten the black color of the hoodliner up.

I think she says use flat black oven paint or something like that!
