You should spray a little WD-40 into the rear latch mechanism and this should fix the opening problem. Did this on my 04 convertible and it worked really well. As far as the hood, suggest you practice with the right drop to find out what works best. It took several drops before I found the sweet spot for the hood. Now it closes with no problems at approx. two foot level. Good luck on the other issues.

Only problem I have had in my first 9500 miles is the trim molding along the top of the windshield was being torn up by the latch for my ragtop. The dealer replaced the trim and adjusted the top, and it seems fine now. As for wind noise, I get that all the time. But then again, if my top isn't down, the window is.
I bought my 04' May 8, 2004, and only have 6,200 miles on it so far. The only problems I've has so far have been the recalls for the steering column and faulty control arm washers.
204 Zo6 purchased last February ~6K miles. Only problem has been control arm washer recall and bad fitting center console trim around radio. Finally got it to fit perfect with a strategically placed piece of 3M tape on the right location tab. Car has been fantastic!
No problems for me worthy of a dealer visit. Some small drops of something got sprayed liberally over the paint and hardened, but they come off with a little finger nail persuasion. I'm still taking off one or two at each wash. Wind noise is not too bad, but the most shocking thing to me was the cement mixer noise in neutral while idling. I'd have definitely brought that back had I not heard in the forum that it was "normal."
p.s.: Growing up in the muscle car era, I also think that 230-degree coolant and oil temperatures are outlandish, but that's the way these babies were designed!

2004 vert: both sunvisor clips broken under 9,000 miles; center console lock tumbler spring broke causing no key entry; leaky rear end that eventually required the dealer to replace the entire rear end. Other then those problems and the usual recalls, it is a great car!
I have my 04 CE coupe 1 year this month, the only thing wrong so far is the gas cap broke when I tried to put it back on after the 2nd fill up. I called the dealer and they had someone bring one to my house and change it in my driveway
i had the same problem with seat and telescoping steering problem. they both had intermittent problem would work some days and others they would not-especially easy exit feature when seat and column move back when shutting off car. mine is a 2003 my coupe.
i was afraid to take to the dealer and i checked fuses/wiring and found nothing wrong. i finally took the car to the dealer and they found active code for defective seat module. they installed a new seat module-dealer said this had to be reprogrammed, and my seat works fine now hope this helps .
