Default Common '04 problems?

My MN6 '04 Coupe born in June has the following problems: Memory for seat and steering wheel position is inconsistent (sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't); fuel door release button sometimes fails to open fuel door; rear hatch sometimes fails to open sufficiently with remote (no problems with dash button); HUD speedometer display is one MPH lower than dash display; hood is difficult to close; wind noise from driver's window. Other than that, I have no problems. Are any of you experiencing the same conditions? Great car! BTW, dynamat reduced rear compartment noise.

I have an 04 convertible and I do not have any of those problems. Sounds like they are simple dealer fixes, just take her in and get her fixed up. Then drive her and enjoy her ...

Hood close issue is not an '04 only issue and can be adjusted easily (note there are 4 rubber stops that can be adjusted. If one of yours is too high it may be stopping the hood before it can actually latch.

Wind noise is normal unfortunately.

I had a fuel pump die at 300 miles but ahve had no major issues since...knock on wood.

My '04 does have the same issue with the HUD speedometer displaying one MPH lower than dash display. Other than that, perfect! Maybe you have an electrical problem.

I have the 1mph variance between HUD and speedo. And sometimes the
driver window wind noise, but that can be mostly resolved by fiddling
with the seam flap folds...

Normal for the HUD. Most speedometers are tad off anyway.

Are you correctly closing the hood? Drop from about 1 foot or you can set it and push both corners carefully. Most people prefer not to drop it.

All your issues are covered under your warranty. Take advantage of it and get 'em all fixed while you can.

The only warranty item I've returned returned my '04 for is a loosely connected wire going to the righthand A/C actuator.

During my own disassembly of the interior I found two mfg. defects. Problem is they couldn't be fixed under warranty as they wouldn't have been found unless you did some unusual disassembly to get to them and under normal circumstances there is no reason for an owner to take their car apart.

Also had a problem with the steering wheel not telescoping out when car was started....but that only lasted the first five mo. and stopped on it's own.

The only problem with this is that the dealership will most likely screw something else up in the process. Unless it's a major problem I wouldn't chance them touching your car and scratching the paint or anything else on your car.

reinstall the hard top and pay close attention to how the rubber molding comes together and you will eliminate the wind noise.

Lemme see.. had to get a new battery after 7 months. Had the top repaired. Seems as though there was a bubble in the paint right smack in the middle rear. Looks like a too-long screw was inserted in the inside release and pushed through the paint. Was repaired/replaced? under warrenty. I have the wind noise issue and might get the dealer to see if a window adjustment would fix it. My memory seats forget where they are at times. Only 6800 miles after a year but so far mostly sooooooooooo good..

No problems of the kind you indicate. The only time the memory seat, etc., hasn't worked for me is when I've forgotten to push the unlock button on the key fob. Best of luck. Dan

My '04 was born in Oct. '03 and I purchased it in May '04. I've had no problems of the nature you describe and it has 9155 miles on it. Did have the tranny seal replaced at 3000 miles and it is still holding. Definitely no wind noise to a buck 30!!
