Hello all, With all this talk about the speed of the Viper around here lately I told my wife, " I'll be back in a few hours, I'm buying a Viper" well I can say only one thing, UUUGGGGLLLLYYYY!!!!!!!. Damn my VETTE is like looking at Paris Hilton and when I looked over at the Viper I saw, Alice ( the Brady Bunch house keeper) So on with the mods. I would buy a super charger but I'll wait to see if I am the winner at ANDY'S BASH first. I did buy the way say I'll be bringing Paris
Don't get me wrong, Vipers a one hell of a sports car but when I saw my Vette next to a new one I just liked the look of the Vette so much better.

vipers are hot, but i am a little disappointed with the new version of the GTS, there is something about the front that really erks me
i like the rear more, but i think the best lookin of the new vipers is the $120k+ non street legal race version that they will sell you. Now that look hawttttttttttt
i like them both....but one thing i can say about them is...vette you can have as a daily driver (be comfortable etc...) for the viper!!
and here are some quick comparison pictures of the two cars side by side

IMO, Vipers are not bad looking cars at all - and with the performance, its hard to resist. Just a matter of personal preference, but I'll still keep the C5.
Glad you chose to stay with the C5. I don't think Vipers are ugly at all. For the type of driving I do and my budget, the Viper just wouldn't work for me but if I could have one as a second car..........I would.
THose are great picks! I like the Viper - The sad thing is they are not made for someone who is 6'5" - Not to mention I would hate to buy a car with that much less hp than my Vette
No question that the Viper is a great looking car.
IMHO it has one major flaw that will always keep me from buying it. It is a Chrysler/Dodge product. Might look good but they tend to be cheap cars. JMO
The C5 is sleek and the Viper is burly. Someone earlier said that the newest Vette and Viper are coming closer together as far as looks and I would tend to agree. The C6 is shorter, burlier and higher on the sides and the Viper is toned down--flatter and not as muscle bound in its curvature... In a way its sad cause if this trend continues we'll have an almost matching car in a few generations...
I liked the older style Vipers better. The newer ones have a BIG GIANT UGLY "+" SIGN in the middle of the front fascia... How artistically challenged could they be? Its ruins an otherwise good looking car. I like the Corvette rear much better as well...

Aesthetically speaking, the Viper does nothing for me, JMHO! Performance wise, the Viper will likely take a stock vette on a straight path, but will get its' *** handed to itself while on a real track. It's no wonder the corvette C5R always win.....come to think of it, I don't even recall seeing a viper on the track competing against the C5R's. That alone tells you alot! Oh, and its still a Dodge and I'm always partial to Chevrolet's. Again, this is all just "MY" humble opinion, but whatever flicks your switch and the light is on and burning brightly for the masses.
