Ben Pup posted a thread late last week regarding meeting an elderly gentleman. A former vet owner and WWII Vet. He was going to visit him and give him a ride on Sunday. I haven't seen a follow-up thread on how the ride went. But, this brings up another related topic. We're all "gearheads", (car guys/gals) to an extent. I'ld be willing to bet retirement homes and communities are full of former gearheads who have had to give up their passion for cars because of health or financial reasons. With all the charitable events vet owners/clubs get involved in, this seems to be another good oppertunity for those who have the time and desire to brighten up the day for some of those who have gone before us, making the automotive hobby what it is today. I know my Dad would have loved to cruise around with me in my C5, if he were still here.........
It is a great idea. My daughter's piano class goes around and plays at a number of assisted living places around here and the people are so interesting. They've done things I'll never get around too - they're just older than some.
