I was coming home today and a C6 came up behind me at a stoplight. I waved, and got nothing. A few blocks down the road, he was along side and I waved again...all I got in return was atitude. Now, I know he saw me. This is the first time I have not received a wave when I know they have seen me. I wave at all vintage's of Corvettes...still will.

Hey Keith,
The guy probably didn't know a thing about the "brotherhood" of Corvette owners. The first time I got "the wave," I was surprised but still managed to return it.
Did the guy see all of your fingers waving or just one?

I must say that I am surprized at that comment about C4 drivers. Most C4 drivers that I know wave at everone.
I think the wave comes down to a culture thing. Either you're a vette person and you wave at other vette folks or you're somone who is driving a vette.
Just my humble opinion. I love all vettes of all generations and do not care for the gen rivalry.
If you wanna dislike someone, lets go kick some new Mustang ***!

I wave at everyone too... it's a brotherhood sort of thing, and the only way to propagate it is to keep doing so.
I even wave at folks who obviously aren't enthusiasts, like this one fellow in a mid-80s C4 and he just gave me the WTF stare.
But you're right, it definitely is a culture thing - if they're into the Vette and automotive culture, then they'll certainly wave back. Guess we just have a few bad apples around here!

C6 guys think their better than us, "I'm gonna ignore that guy, he is not in my class." Some C6 guys ignore me too.
Use to happen with C5 owners when I had my C4. The C5 owners would not look over at you. Seems as the the C5 owners thought they were better then C4 owners. I've noticed still C5 and C6 owners hardly wave. I guess there are a lot of first time Corvette owners who don't know about Corvette history. Or could be they are just blind. Save the Wave.>George
From: Alhambra Calismognazifornia, in the country everyone comes just to complain but won't go back home!
here in So Cal, pretentious ***** capital of the world , it's hard to get waves...especially so in the "south bay" area where i work (just shows you how pretentious when they call it a bay and it's nothing of the sort ). i have noticed though, and it may just be coincidence, that usually i get a wave from the "older" ... ummm ... retiree aged drivers and the younger drivers but rarely from the "middle of the road" (gen-Xers). though few gen-Xers actually drive vettes in this area, they all drive bimmers, audis and benzes....i gotta say though that i had a real cool drive down PCH from long beach to san clemente a couple weeks ago and i got a few waves going through the newport beach area (another area know for some pretentious attitudes)...and, just a couple days ago, i had a C6 driver wave at me from the other side of the 10 Fwy in downtown LA (we were both crawling in morning rush hour traffic).
i don't really care if they wave or not, it's not gonna mess with my day...my GF has a laugh at us though just about everytime she sees me wave
