Last week I was detailing under the hood of my C-5 and I noticed that one corner of the hood liner is separating. (The top cover is sagging, exposing the insulation below) It is not yet too bad, but I am wondering if there is a way I can repair it before it gets any worse. Has anyone else had this problem. I thought about double sided tape, possibly some kind of glue. Any advice would be appreciated...

The dealer just replaced my liner (02) under warranty. It is covered if you have any warranty remaining.
Get some "Tacky Glue" at a craft store, if it is just the edges...
If it goes into the liner and is like the top layer is seperating..hum, this is tricky..
get some spray adhesive.. Lift up the top layer and carefully spray the insulation (not the back of the top layer)... Do not soak it... Hold apart until the glue forms and is not wet.. Then carefully lay the top layer down.
If you spray to wet of heavy it will come through the top layer of the liner and will look like crap...
If you can find it...the stuff to use is 3M #76 high-tack spray adhesive...applied just like Paula described. Spray it on, let it tack up, then press together.
I had to fix one corner of mine last year, and this stuff worked great and is still holding.
Yes Tom, Yes, that is what the name is.. Acutally, if you just need to stick the edges together, rather than taking the chance of spraying the edges, spray some on some newspaper and take a stick or knife to apply it to the insulation part of the liner.
I just a few minutes ago had to stick some edges together and grabbed some emblem adhesive and it worked just fine....
The 3M adhesive seemed to have done the trick. I am glad I noticed it before it got any worse, and I am glad (again) that I found this forum. This forum is a great resource for those of us who.. do not know everything!
