Got an Optima 75/35 about 30 days or so ago cause thats the battery everyone says to get! Today I'm in the Vette and at lu nch I pull up and shut it off, everything has been fine with the starts today, come out put the key in nothing, won't start! It's as if its in gear (A4) but its not. Won't turn over, no dome lights nothing! Anybody have any ideas?

Battery going dead yields symptoms. Sometimes really strange things on a 'vette. Even a really sick battery will usually give you a click or light up an interior bulb. Absolutely "dead" usually indicates incomplete circuit which is cable or ground related. Since you just changed the battery, check the cables for corrosion and tightness. It's also not that unusual for one of the cabes to be cross threaded and need replacing - replacement cables are available at any hardware store. Modern batteries with screw in terminlas yield new trouble shooting issues.

Also, sometimes the batteries are bad from the manufacturer. I had that last year with my Miata. That's why God invented warrantees.
Did you try to jump start it? If it starts with a jump, then you either bought a bad battery or have a short circuit that is draining the battery while the car sits.
Got it home and took the cables off and looked them over real good and the problem was corrosion keeping it from a good connection! I got a wire brush and sandpaper to it and its now fine! Just to look at the cables from the outside they looked fine but when you got them off, well that was a different story! Thanks to everyone for the help and comments!
