I am thinking of adding a Partition and Headers at the same time. Will the Partition offset the additional sound level generated by the headers. Are any brand of headers quiter than others.
My Z has the B&B Bullets which are insanely loud and I considered replacing the exhaust until I made a partition. WORLD of difference! I can now hear the stereo and have conversations with passengers
I will guarantee that if our partition does not make enough difference,I will take it back free of charge.
Priced fom $179.00-$299.00
We even sell trade-in partitions - $50-$75
For added sound reduction we also offer the storage covers and Loyd Heavyweight cargo mats. These mats alone have shown a reduction of 3 db at 175 hz in a Z06.
Feel free to shoot me an email with your phone number and I will call you with what we recommend for your Z.
Thanks

Just IM some of the people whom have bought our product here and at the other forum an I am sure you will get correct answers from people whom have the same combo you will have.
I just bought Andy's partition, I should have done it a year ago when I bought my Z. Road noise is down, the stereo sounds better, AC works better and on longer drives you don't go deaf, and you can take it out very easily if you want to hear the car and not the stereo.
I to have one of Andy's partitions. Have LT's as well. The partition really helps and the quality of Andy's is top notch. The key is the catback though. I left my stock Ti's in and living very happy with those. If you put a catback on it other than stock, a partition won't help a whole lot. A little, but not a whole lot. A partition with alot of sound deadening throughout the trunk would be a fix for a loud catback.
But my LT's, stock Ti's and Andy's partition are just right for me.

I have a '04 Z with headers, RT cats and stock exhaust. My partition has a little extra sound insulation under the vinyl and I have to tell you that it does quiet the car down with it in place. I was really concerned about the noise headers would add, but have to tell you that it is really not much louder than stock. My experience is that most exhaust noise comes when you trade out your stock system for a cat-back which I can't justify with the noise/performance trade-off. My car dyno'd at 396 rwhp with just intake and exhaust mods and I am happy with this set-up (for now )...
You "made" your partition. Care to provide any more details. Materials used etc. I was thinking 2 pieces of 1/2" MSD board covered on both sides with carpet. I need to build one for my car to fit around the roll bar.
Thanks

Partition is 1/2 MDF, covered with a 1/2 closed foam material with vinyl skin (purchased from McMaster Carr). I then upholstered it with a "leather look" black vinyl with ZO6 logo embroidered on one side. Compressed thk. is maybe 3/4" or so.
Cool. Thanks for the info. I have a McMaster-Carr sittin right here on my desk, you dont have the part number handy do you? Also did you just use the interference to hold it in place. I was thinking maybe some vecro.
