Just got my 99 black coupe nice and waxed up, with the chrome wagon wheels just a sparkling like mad and was out showing her off when I saw a brand new, bright yellow C6 convertable. At a stoplight on a five lane road, he was in the left through lane and I was one car back in the right lane. When the light changed, he took off, leaving a sizable gap behind him which I immediately filled. Once passed 70 MPH he took his foot off the gas and I pulled up beside him ( I had stayed with him during the acceleration) and gave him a wave and a thumbs up. He smiled and returned the same. We then went our seperate ways. Contrary to what I have heard others say, this C6 driver was cool; a cedit to the C6 gang. Hope he is local so I can share experiences, see his car up close, and maybe get to ride (drive?) in his vette.

Yea must of them are nice i guess it might be cause when we play around they are mostly seeing my tailights.
Well, I have a theory about why some people consider C6 owners "snooty," - and the same thing was being said about C5 drivers when it came out, btw: both of the later generations attracted a broader range of customer than the traditional Corvette enthusiast, and many of these folks are just not familiar with Corvette traditions. Just my $.02.
Yeah I spent a yr in the C4-Forums & hear the same thing about C5's.
Bottom line all vettes look great & honestly wouldn't mind owning one of each generation. Even though I just bought my 02 recently can't help but miss the torque from my 91
He's an enthusiast not a vette driver. Proboably not his first vette. Friend of mine just bought his first a C6, he wanted to know why everyone was waving at him.
Took a couple of minutes but two of us got the story down and told him about the Forum as well. He is now an enthusiast.

That’s great - spreading the “gospel” of the Corvette.
I don't know who started this C6 driver attitude thing but, it seems to me it's most likely an issue of being a first time Corvette buyer. First time buyers of Corvettes don't know about the wave and don't understand the history behind the Corvette. These people don't even know anything about the car they buy. To them it's just a sports car. And if they are young buyers they don't understand the Corvette used to be America's only sports car.

Yup, and sometimes owners of older Corvette's feel envy and will make it a point to trash talk the new kid on the block. I get tired of reading about missed waves and all the reasons etc. For the last 8 years C5 owners had had that finger pointed at them. Now suddenely we are doing the pointing.
With over a million vette's still on the roads I'm not surprised we come across owner's that "just don't want to play". I'm not gonna trash talk em.
But I'm glad you had a positive experience, because that is what makes this hobby so enjoyable, it's the good stuff I remember.

I'm glad that I spent over a year on CF before I got mine. These great members got me well educated before I pulled out of the dealers lot. Tom

My wife drives the 1996 C4 everyday. Her custom tag is LUV2WAV. I can tell you in the Memphis area I hear it about twice a week about how us C5 guys don't wave Few weeks back she passed (2) C4s (2) C5s and a C6. She had to tell me that everyone waved BUT the C5 drivers. She had to rub it in that the C6 was the first to wave when she saw it Boy some times it hard being a C5 guy when your wife has a C4
All the C6ers in the Tidewater VA area are great! It's just the C4ers that are the ********* and some C5 guys. Just don't know anything about tradition... I went out and bought a book!!!
