WS6 track challenge
I have a '98 auto. coupe w/ 44k on the clock for starters. I recently beat an Evo 8 at the local track. Raced him twice. Anyways, to the WS6. The guy saw the run and says he has his dads '02 WS6 "STOCK" that he'd like to put a bill up for ($100). I believe his is a manual since he mocked my auto. Anyways, I have a 3.15 gear, blackwing intake, my good ol run flats (as if that's gonna make a difference), and GHL exhaust. I'm running stock cats, and everything from the engine to the h pipe where my GHL Magnum's start. If the Evo I raped runs a "13.5" stock, what should I do with this $100 bet with the WS6 (6speed, solid rear axle, and a K and N air filter)... hmmm
That is a gonna be a pure drivers race, but seeing as you are in an auto I would bet the money. I think you can get him by a car or two, but just make sure you dont mess up the launch. Good luck

First off. Does the kids dad know that his son is going to race his car. It's most likely the old, Hey my dad's car can beat your car. Bet him the $100. If you do get beat, then snitch on him. That'll show him.
Here is my 2 cents - If he is a good driver and has an MN6 and your Auto is still running the factory shift programing you are going to have a hard time beating him given your mods. The Trans Am has about the same amount of rear wheel horsepower and is damn fast 1/4 miler. In my experience, the stock auto Corvette is not as fast as the mn6 with a decent driver.
Go for it for fun but save your 100 bucks - or get some more mods (certianly get a tune for your trans - if not a good torque converter)

I'm getting a mixed reply here... hmmm. What kind of T/C could I buy for like 300-400 bucks? I want a 3200 stall. One of my Zo6 buddies says I need new gears first before anything. What's wrong with my 3.15's?

Same RWHP and it'll be close??? Do you know how much those things weigh?
Vette will take him straight off and line and that'll be the end of it.

Could be a close race. The WS-6's are quick and even though they weigh more than a C5, I think they are underrated on power. Just race for fun - why does it have to involve cash? Oh, and be sure it is done at a track.
They are kida on the fat side but with a MN6 and some 3:42's it could be really close. I had a friend with a SS that mad 310 to the wheels and ran a 13:30 stock. I know you may think those # are BS but why would I lie its not my car. Race for phone its not like you make a living racing.
Well.....I have a basically stock 6 speed and last summer I ran a newer SS Z28. I bogged some out of the hole but caught him in 1st and pulled away by several car lengths by the traps. I assume a WS6 would be similar Of course we all know what happens when you ***/u/me
