how good does the vette trunk sound with a really good system, does it rattle, or would i still need to dynamet it
thanks guys
Check with England Green. He just did a major Stereo upgrade. I understand that the dynamat makes a difference in overall sound quality as does getting a partition......rattling I can't comment on, but I'm sure EG can help you......

sounds great, I've got a 12" sub in the rear compartment. Only vibrates when I really crank it up, of course, running upwards of 1600 watts will do that (entire system)

I'm running 3 10's and even with Dynamat/B-Quiet throughout the entire interior, I still get some rattle at medium to high volume.
If you're undecided and haven't started the install, I'd highly recommend installing some sort of sound deadener (maybe not Dynamat as it can get pricey) at least in the cargo area. Otherwise it would be a real PITA to have to pull everything out and install deadening because you're hearing too many rattles... better to be safe than sorry . Then you could install deadening in the driver/passenger areas in the future if you think it's necessary.
The trunk of the Vette is so large an expert installer should be able to create a system with plenty of base with one 10 or maybe even an 8 inch woofer if you aren't obsessed with rap music type bass. All trunks rattle though, I once had two 12 inchers in my 1964 thunderbird, solid steel trunk still managed some muffled rattlin'.
I've got 2 10" subs in the back (FRC) pullin 2200 watts with the entire car having been dynamated and I get VERY little rattle. You can't hear any rattle at all from within the car, but if you stand at the rear you can hear the rear fascia rattle a little.
