Default Greetings vette owners

Hey guys, I own a 2004 wrx java black pearl. My dad owns a black c5 02' and a 93' 40year anniversery edition convertible. Seems like I have more interest in his c5 cuz I drive it every chance I get. Im trying to get my rex faster than his vette but as of right now Id probably get spanked, hehe. Im running stage 2 on the wrx will upgrade the other stuff soon. Am thinking about doing a couple things to the c5 but im unsure if i can talk him into it. Im willing to pay for it also. Anyhow just dropping in and saying HELLO!

Welcome. You are actually thinking about doing mods to someone else's car??? Even though it's your Dad's??? And you are willing to pay for them??? You know..... I have a C5 also. I'll be willing to let you buy mods for my car, if that makes you happy, I know I would be happier. Lets start with the LG long tubes w/cats and x-pipe. I'm also looking for ZO6 3.42 gears.

BTW, sounds like you really want a C5.

Welcome!!I think you should use the mod money and proceeds from the sale of the WRX to get into a C5. Then mod it and then spank your daddy

A three Vette family would be cool.

Actually the 93 vette was my uncle's who babied it with only 40k miles on it. He had it in buffalo and stored it in a special garage during the winters. My dad bought it off him for real cheap because my uncle didnt want it to go to anyone else. Now I spent 19k on my wrx and now im dumping money into it cuz the c5 spoiled me with 350hp. My dad was trying to get me to sell the wrx and just pocket the difference and keep the 93'. Only prob the 93 model is automatic. My dad has no interest in driving fast, everytime Im in the car with him I wanna explode cuz he drives sooo slow. C5 would be wicked fast with some mods.
Im usually on the wrx forums and they always trash talk vette's. So when i talk about vette's they bash me (on naisoc). I guess I can safely ask ?'s and talk about vette's on this forum. Honestly particularly top end there is just no competition. I got interested in wrx's cuz (without pops knowledge) I raced a few sti and wrx's in the c5 and had some close ones and lost if it lasted less than 10 secs, heheh.
I feel kinda snobbish when i drive the vette also, the wrx humbles me. Most people my age cant afford a vette so it makes sense. Anyways my dad's picking up the 93' this week Ill post pics soon.

You should go over to the C5s for sale section for a while. You might be very surprised at the prices of the 97s 98s, and 99s. The WRX is a great car, just very different than ours. I've owned a few Subaru wagons years ago and even a Brat with 8" of lift. All were well built cars. Just watch the street racing stories here. They aren't allowed on CF.

What's the WRX worth? It's an '04 so it should bring some decent money, right? You could probably get into an '00 or '02 C5 and have a little mod money left over. I do understand that there's a different age profile for the owners. The WRX driver tends to be younger. I have a friend that owns a WRX, so I have driven both. The WRX is a quick little car. Smooth as silk and fun to throw around. The 'Vette, and inparticular the C5, is beauty and the beast, IMHO. Excellent driveability and manners in town, but a snorting beast when you put the wood to it. Nothing like the grunt of a pushrod V8. It's all about personal preference, though!

Gee, I can't imagine the WRX guys bashing 'Vettes!!

Power is sure addicting. Friend of mine had an 02 Z06, but sold it for the slightly more practical WRX STi. After a year, he was back in a Vette, this time an 04 C5 Coupe. After six months or so of that, he traded it for an 03 Z06. Full circle and out who knows how much money...

Have fun with the Vette when your dad lets you drive it, but be careful out there. I'd probably be dead now if my dad had a vette when I was your age.

Geez, I wish my kid would spend some money for my mods. Especially since he's probably gonna own it when they pull my cold, dead fingers from the steering wheel.

Also I think it is a 94', just to correct myself from an earlier post. Would a c4 auto be worth modding? Because i seriously think the only thing he'd let me do to the c5 would be to wax and vaccum it and of course occasionally drive it.
