I've been using a Magellan Roadmate 700 for the past 13 months now. It's performance has been outstanding and nearly flawless.
I just got the updated maps and database software and this great tool is now better than ever!
P.S.- I saw in their Sunday newspaper flyer that Best Buy has the Roadmate 700 on sale for $899. That's the lowest I've ever seen it. When I bought mine over a year ago, I got it on eBay for $1100 when they were selling in stores for over $1200.
Take a look at www.cartoys.com they have the lowest price....includes everything.
I guess I should rephrase that. I live in an area where building NEVER EVER stops. There seems to be a new neighborhood once a week. which means new roads, bypasses, off ramps from major roads, etc. Keeping up with that became a hassle.
In that case, no GPS unit you get would be accurate.
It's a little different, but I hook up my hiking GPS to my laptop. Using the my Garmin Vista as an antenna only, it can feed Microsoft Streets & Trips with all the info I need to get around the streets gps-style.
