I'm running a Garmin 2620. I think Kris072 has the Magellan. I like mine, I never take side trips anf fon't have to ask for directions.

I like my Magellan Roadmate 700. It's pretty accurate.

I'm currently using the Garmin Street Pilot III. I use what I call a "Soft Install" The SPIII is a portable unit with a beanbag mount for the dash. I purchased a remote antenna and place it up on the dash and run the wire to the glove box. The unit (beanbag and all) is in the glove box. I can use it open to view the map, or closed and just listen to the turn by turn voice directions. All in all, its a pretty nice solution. I can move the unit to another vehicle in about two minutes.

I have the Garmin 2610. I did a temporary mount on the top of the dash above the middle vent. It sort of turned into a permanent mounts as I haven't moved it since. I was a little leary of sticking anything onto the dash but I have removed one of these mounts after an extended period to no problems. The only thing I don't like about it is having the power cord coming down the side of the center stack enroute to the power plug. When I get a C6 one day it will have the built in GPS/NAV.

I had the Garmin StreetPilot III. Sold it. It was wrong a lot. I usually knew where I was going anyway and I bought it because I LOVE the tech stuff. To me, the whole GPS thing is an overpriced toy.

Wow, my SPIII has never been wrong in the 3 years I've owned it. Garmin is considered one of the best in the industry. I've sold 4 friends on the units and this is the first time I've ever heard anyone say that.

I use the Dell gps and a dell X50v pda. I velcro the gps to the dash and use a pro clip to hold the pda. It uses Blue Tooth wireless to get the signal from the gps. You can mount the gps anywhere in the car and the pda will get the signal. It uses Navteq maps which seems to be very good. I used it when I went to Colorado and back (3600 miles).

laptop and $50 GPS mouse off ebay + streets and trips works wonders for me...Doesn't look pretty, but gets the job done well, and with the addition of my new GPRS PCMCIA card I have internet while I'm driving too (watch out)

Have a Magellan Color. It sits in the cup holder. I velcro it to my Ninja when on two wheels. Weatherproof and portable.

Define what you mean by it was wrong. Remember GPS units get their base mapping data all from the same place. If the base information is not updated or as new streets change the lot address numbers then every GPS unit will be wrong. Unless that manufacture adds to the base map data.

I agree with you. I am saving up for the Eclipse AVN-5435...it is a great piece of work.
That head unit with JL speakers, JL subs and a JL Amp (500/5).

Maybe so, but flip up screens just don't cut in my opinion.

I've been using a Magellan Roadmate 700 for the past 13 months now. It's performance has been outstanding and nearly flawless.

I just got the updated maps and database software and this great tool is now better than ever!

P.S.- I saw in their Sunday newspaper flyer that Best Buy has the Roadmate 700 on sale for $899. That's the lowest I've ever seen it. When I bought mine over a year ago, I got it on eBay for $1100 when they were selling in stores for over $1200.

I guess I should rephrase that. I live in an area where building NEVER EVER stops. There seems to be a new neighborhood once a week. which means new roads, bypasses, off ramps from major roads, etc. Keeping up with that became a hassle.

AVIC N1 for me.

Cost about $1500 with the mod kits.

Good accuracy and reasonable sound with the stock BOSE. I'm happy with it.
