Engine hood retainers...Help

One of our forum members had used chrome caps from a home center to enhance the look of the 15 retainers on the engine hood. I do not know or remember the thread. Can someone help

Wow! Home depot is becoming a Corvette aftermarket supplier. There is another thread about $1.97 gill screens made from screem material from Home Depot! I think I'll buy some dryer vent hose and make a RamAir system!

I think the chrome caps are from the plumbing section. They are the fillers for sinks if you are not using a rinsing hose or soap dispenser. They cover up the holes on the top of the sinks.

The chrome caps are 1-1/2" and come from Lowe's. The ones that Home Depot have aren't chrome.

Bought mine from Home depot. .97 each. They are stainless...Cheapest mod I have made. They look real good.

I just took the plastic ones that were in the car already and painted then with engine paint to match the painted hood liner paula did for me.But if i ever want to change them to chrome i will sure know where to go.

I hit every HD and Lowe's in my vicinty. Apparently, way too many vette guys that wanted them. Could not find 15 anywhere. Just ordered them online last night. Tired of searching.

Bought the chrome ones at Home Depot, sprayed two coats of clear coat in case they tarnished. Painted the hood liner at the same time. Testors paints.

You are going to have to trim a bit off the plastic retainers to fit into the sink caps!!
