Default A Mercedes!

No laws were broken in the making of this story.

Saturday, heading to Home Depot (like every Saturday with honey-do-list in hand). Open road, 55 mph, occasional stop light.

Sitting at the light and this big silver Mercedes 4 door sedan pulls up. I look over, see the V8 Kompressor badge, guy about 40 with hair on his chin grins (I look like that too), light changes and he hammers that lead sled to the next light. S Class, 475 hp and 500plus ftlb of torque, dealer tags still on it, wants to play.

I figure what the hey! So we proceed to do side-by-side accleration drills from light to light and brake at 55. That led sled is quick! Not much off the line but at 40 mph she reall comes on, too bad we did not have the chance to take it to the track.

Great story!

(I still stand by my opinion that Kompressor with a K looks too cheesy for such quality automobiles as MBs )

Uh, that's German for "Compressor" or in this case/application "Supercharger".

The other night while testing at the grudge races, there was an SL55 there. He changed to drag radials and proceeded to run 11.4@128.
Totally stomped all the Vettes and Cobras all in completely calm street trim. Strange thing, I thought the badge on his car read V12 TURBO. I could be wrong. Anyway, it was WAY FAST! I can relate.

No it's a 4-door family sedan.
And the E55 is supposed to beat the vette in handiling, from what others tell me anyways.
I find it hard to believe but you never can tell.
