Default How do you remove visor in a vette?

I need to remove my visors in the vette and want some guidance before I go breaking it. I am sure there are plenty of people out there who have done the garage door mod, so let m eknow what I need to reove them.

Any help is appreciated.

There is a how to on the forum somewhere. It is a strange procedure. I have to find the how to again myself. I just finished a panel to remove the visors and make the car look like it did not come with visors.

Just did it this weekend, very simple:

1. Pull the visor down (in the position it would be if you were trying to block a low sun directly in front of you).
2. There is a small slot where the visor goes up into the roof - insert a flathead screwdriver into that slot.
3. With pressure on the screwdriver (and keepign pressure on it), rotate the visor towards the outside of the car (as if you were blocking sun coming from that direction). When you start to move the visor, the screwdriver and entire assemply should rotate.
4. When you have rotated the assembly so it is close to parallel with the car, it will drop down out of the roof, still attached be a power cord for the mirror light.
5. Wiggle the power wire around as it has a connector that has been stuffed up into the roof. Once the connector comes out you can disconnect it and be on your way.

Above are my experiences based on reading this thread

Wow, that was very easy...almost too easy! Hope it is just as easy to put back in. Had I done it myself, I know I would have tried to pop the cover off and ended up breaking something.

Thanks,
Rodrigo

Can't comment on that - removing mine was a permanent mod as the passenger side would drop down over every bump, and in the last 15 years I can't recall ever using a visor in any of my cars. Since I'm 6'5" the extra visibility is an added bonus too.
