cleaned my DD sat.morn and listened to a new cd I just bought-16 songs. Went to leave for work in the evening and battery was dead. It's only 11 months old and I can't imagine playing that cd drained my battery, do you think (2004 coupe)?

You need to get the system checked. See if you have a draw on the battery or if the alternator is putting out enough charge. You could have a single diode bad in the alternator that would provide about 12 volts of charge, but not enough to get the car back fully charged.
Then again, you could just have a bad battery. I think the factory ones are only rated for 24 months anyway. Could be time for an Optima.
Get the car checked first. Any Autozone can do it.
first things first... check the connections to the battery, make sure they are tight... a loose connection can cause drain... but just get an Optima Red Top... it is well worth the money...

My thought on battery... cheap enough to replace and then you don't have to worry about it dying on you... even if its covered by warrant, if it dies on you, then you have to have tow truck come out or whatever.... just replace the POS thats in there and thats one thing that you don't have to worry about...
I also had a dead battery today. It's like the third time I've had to recharge it in as couple months. It used to last a month easy now it seems the battery can't last a week.

It just so happens I had my son do that last week to my car. He did find some corrosion, cleaned it up and tightened everything...was going to replace with an Optima but he could not get one of the terminals to break free.
Guess what???I now have a dead car in my garage. 2 days ago it started slowly when the key was turned and knew then it was going south but of course hubby says just a fluke because the next time it started right away.
IMO. there's one thing that you shouldn't do at this point, and that's run out and buy a battery. You don't know how many times a member had done the same, only to find out that something was draining his/her battery, a connection was loose, etc, etc. Have your charging system and battery checked ASAP. Your battery, if defective, should be replaced free of charge by your dealership. My OEM AC Delco battery is almost 4 years old and still starting like a champ.
Just replace it with one of these and your troubles are gone. Don't ask how I know.
Red top is plenty... Yellow top is for stuff with LOTS and LOTS of load... cop cars, super duper stereo loaded cars.. (lots of amps etc) that have extra drain on them... The yellow tops are the king SHIEAT... but a waste unless you need the extra power
I haven't started my baby in a week. Went to DFW on business... got up yesterday, hit the keyfob yesterday morning, no response. Unlocked, got in, put key in ignition, nothing. No lights, no message, nothing...
Neighbor let me borrow his "starter"... car turned over and ran for 30 mins. I turned it off and went inside for breakfast. Went back out and tried to start, nothing! Put charger back on it, left it for about 25 mins, nothing. This is on the OEM AC Delco...
Went to Sears for the Red Top, brought it home, put it in, cranked right up! Let her run for about 15 mins. All's well, smile's back!
Woke up this morning intent on driving her to work... Red Top's dead again. Dim dash lights, but no DIC message and not even a click when I turn the ignition.
I'm gonna try replacing the Red Top tonight, but it seems something's draining the batteries when she's sitting... after this next one, I'll have to get a diagnosis if it happens again.
My Vette is just a weekend car. Several months ago, I bought a Battery Tender. Takes less than a minute to hook up or disconnect. Interesting - the indicator lights on the Tender always indicate the battery at less than 80% charge when I first hook it up. Don't know if use of the Battery Tender will make the battery last longer, but I do know that I have a full charge every time I start the car.
There was a post last week that said they found that the glove box light was not turning off. Something like this will drain your battery. They adjusted the switch to make sure it turned off the light correctly. Your problem is something like this. Something is still on when you get out of the car. Keep us posted. Good luck with it things like this can drive you nuts.

In a situation like that, it sounds like something is draining your battery, take it to sears... they will charge it, let it sit and then test it, to see if it holds a charge.... they will be able to tell you.. especially if you bought the battery through them... easy facheesy

Called AAA,got a hot shot and drove it a little. Went to work, parked it for 13 hours and no problem. I'll have it checked out Wed. when I go in for new rotors/red calipers; I can't wait!
Had a similar problem. Battery was defective and dealer replaced it under warranty. I suspect that a cell was bad, since it would start, but would not handle the load from the door being open without the engine on.
Dealer runs a quick test to check the battery.
If the car is still under warranty, I would go that route.
