Default 2000 Coupes/ any problems?

I have had a 98 A4 coupe and a 01Z. Looking at buying a 2000 M6 or A4 coupe. Any thing specific to that year I should be on the lookout for?

I have a 2000 coupe with MN6 and have had no problems at all.
I love it.
The only thing that I can gripe about is the fact that the car gained an extra 5 HP in 2001. Don't know how.

Good luck.

I've owned my car for almost 5 years now. Bought it new way back when. I've had no major issues with my car. Had the CLB done a few years ago, never had a problem with it. Never had problems burning oil and no leaking differential. I still have the original ACDelco battery with no issues. I've even ran the 1/4 mile on a couple of occasions. I've always taken care of my Vette, besides..I'm keeping it until one of us dies... . Good luck.

No problems with mine as well. Just the usual differential leak.

I ordered mine brand new 5 years ago. Runs great and still has the original battery also. I did have the fuel sender problem but that was fixed. It is a once in a lifetime car for me and I'm not disappointed.

My 2000 MN6 Coupe has been a great car. As I now have mod fever, it's becoming a BETTER car!

My '00 had the oil consumption problem that required ring replacement, but the tech did a great job on it and it fell under warranty. Other than that, I've had the leaky differential seal three times and the seal between the tranny and differential has leaked once. Still a great car.

i bought my '00 a4 coupe 2 years ago with 20k miles...had to replace rotors (originals were warped), new battery (optima), climate control, and tires...i've put 18k on it-it's a daily driver, kept outside, and driven in all kinds of weather (weather here in eastern nc is not dramatic except for the hurricans)...i get 14-16 mpg in town, and 30 on the road...very satisfied with the car, and have no regrets about buying it (i had a '95 c4 previously)....

I've had mine for almost two years with no complaints. I replaced my original battery last November with an Optima Red Top and I had the column lock recall done last summer. No oil useage problems and no differential leaks (knock on wood). Good luck with your decision.

I can't believe some guys brag about having the original battery. These things go south relatively suddenly dumping acid on the ECM and the wiring/vacuum harness. Big $ fix. Maybe you guys could find someone to install a rocking seat for ya'. Hey, they're faulty!!!!

Don't forget about the HVAC display. It gradually gets dim and then dies all together. I had the rocking seat fixed and I need to get the unlock mechanism for the driver door fixed. Love the car. I still think my old C4 with the clamshell hood looks better but I would never go back because mine is a daily driver that I too will drive till it or I die. I may skip over the C6s depending how long the C6 run lasts. We'll see. Right not there is only one other car I would even remotely consider, yea it is a C6. Well I and my wallet can live with that.

I have had my 2K vert for 3 years and have had to replace the battery (under warranty) and while the battery was out, I ordered the battery tray that goes under the battery in case of acid spills. Cheap insurance, and after looking at the tray, I bet any one of us could make one quite easily. Also the erratic fuel gage cleared up after using a different brand of gas and adding fuel additive. Other than that and with 40,00 on the clock, I have really enjoyed the car, but will be buying and C6 next spring.

Is there a TSB issued on the battery problem? I would love to know why they leak...suddenly? Is there an aftermarket tray I can buy as a safeguard?

62k miles and only problem has been the rear diff leak.

Oh yeah - almost forgot - not NEARLY enough mods too!

Cheers ... Chris ...
