Default Check Engine - No Codes

Hello all. I am hoping that one of you can shed some light on my issue. I bought a used 2003 Z06 with about 8K miles on it back in March. About 2 months ago, I installed a Halltech Stinger. Other than that, the car is stock aside from the CAGS defeat (which was already on it when I bought it).

Everything with the install went fine, no codes or anything after it was in. Car has driven prefectly every time before and since. Today out of nowhere my check engine light came on (steady no blinking), but the DIC didn't show any codes. I pulled over immediately and got the manual out. After reading over the CEL section, the only thing that came to mind was the Stinger. After reading this post http://forums.corvetteforum.com/show...F&forum_id=103 I was concerned that perhaps the oil from the filter had gunked up my MAF. I just pulled off the Stinger and ran my finger around the inside of the front of the MAF and it is dry as a bone and no filth came off of it. i could see no signs of excessive oil anywhere. Just to be on the safe side, I went ahead and gently cleaned the wires on the MAF with rubbing alcohol and a Q-Tip. The light still comes on even after driving it around for a bit.

I guess I have two questions:

1. Any ideas as to what is causing the light to come on? O2 sensor, etc.
2. Even though I cannot see any signs of excessive oil, should I be worried about the dealer and the Halltech Stinger considering the post about the TSB and excessive oil from aftermarket air filters?

Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

A quick and easy solution might be a loose gas cap. I had my light come on last year and another member suggested I take off my gas cap and then put it back on again, making sure it clicked several times. I did it and it worked - the light has not been back since. Now, whenever I fill up, I make sure I twist the cap around 360*.

Thanks vettecop. I checked the gas cap to see if it was tight, but did not try taking it off and then back on again. I will try that and see what happens. A couple of the Z06 guys told me how to retrieve the codes (if any) on the DIC so I will see what I can find out.

OK. the only current code is 10 PCM 1416. Seems thatP1416 = passenger side check valve. Guess I am off to the dealer Monday for a warranty repair.
