It saved me on one occasion and that's after 32 years accident free motoring. I've seen lots of stories here where Forum members have been grateful for the protection.
Inhibiting a safety feature should be a conscious decision in my book. JMHO.
If you are having handling problems than have that system checked out. You should not know it exists unless you are in trouble or on the track. It never takes control of the car unless it detects a problem.
Most people prefer Competitive mode or with AH turned off on the track, but unless I am really out of shape, it helps my times. (Then it shuts down the car which is a real let down)
It is really neat when you are struggling to make a corner and you feel the front brake on the turning side kick in and you actually make the corner. Formula 1 drivers who are the quickest in the world swear by their version active handling.
I dont think your handling problem is the active handling unless something is wrong with yours. The AH is a great feature and can only help under 99% situations don't tell me you drive the 1% all the time.
ok...i agree that it is better to leave it on...BUT...
for some reason my car acts twitchy on uneven or rough roads with it on...
so...there must be something wrong with it...
on smooth roads it is fine and normal...
turning it off on the crappier roads makes it handle MUCH better...normal...
BTW...it was aligned recently at the chevy dealer...
has anyone else here experienced this?
if something is wrong with the AH how would one tell?
would there be an error code i can search for?
I've used it for a year now. No problems. Easy installation. Manually override it if you desire.
Yep, I have one and love it. If you have a 2004, there are a few tricks to make it work but I finally figured that out. Mine stays on A/H which is actually the default setting for the laptrax. Good luck.

I don't understrand....does AH engage over "uneven or rough roads" in your car? Do you see it on the DIC?
AH is unobtrusive unless you are about to cross the limits of the tires and/or vehicle's handling limits.
