Default Engines Made in Mexico?

I was talking with a couple of C5 owners in Palm Desert yesterday about the C5 & C6 Vettes. The one guy mentioned that the engines used in later C5's and the new C6, were made in Mexico. Is there any truth to this, or is it total
Thanks

I believe LS1s used to be made in Mexico but stopped after the f bodies were discontinued. Not certain on this.

I would find it hard to believe, any car, is 100% made in the USA.
