Default Headlight Problems

Hi Guys,

This morning I went to put my parking and fog lights on because of rain, and my headlight doors opened which they never do,and when I went to close them they make a grinding sound after they have closed which lasts for about 8 seconds. What do you think...

03 Vert

Thanks

John

Your gear is going out on the actuator. You have three choices here:

1. Have the dealer replace the actuator for approximately $300, which is what I was quoted.

2. Buy a new actuator for approximately $175 and replace it yourself.

3. Order a brass gear from Rodney Dickman's and rebuild it yourself.

I did the rebuild for $45.

Good luck with your decision.

Default Removing headlight actuator motor?

Hi Guys,

I have an 89 that the passenger headlight comes up at a different time
than the other one. I see where you can rebuild the motor, but I need to know how to remove the bad one. Please reply a fix.

Thanks
Blkbty.
