I couldn't take it any longer and bought this floor jack tonight. I have a 20 year old Sears 1 1/2 ton floor jack. But this new aluminum 2 ton jack is so much better and lighter. Plus it fits under my Vette. I even got 10% off. http://www.sears.com/sr/javasr/produ...Lift+Equipment
Sam's wholesale club sells a similar jack with all the same specs for half that price of the Sears product. I looked for a long time at various jacks and Mfg and did like that Sears product, but I liked the price, specs the same and this product has the same warranty as the sears. If you don't have a membership go to wal-mart and they will give you a day pass to the Club to purchase items.

Now you tell me! Being how frugal I am, price does matter to me. I guess my need to finally have a good jack overpowered me.

Wish I could but we don't have Sam's Club in this part of the country. I did check out Costco, I think Sam's Club and Costco are sister companies. Costco didn't have the floor jack, at least not on the shelves.
I'm amazed and how light and easy jacking up a car is with this new jack. The longer big handle provides you with better leverage. Much better than the heavy short handled jack I had been using.
I have the same exact one.. one of the best jacks ive owned hands down and i have about 4 different jacks... It rolls very easily and its very light compared to the others and it also has a magnetic tray
Only its a 1.5 Ton Torin brand. Pep Boys: $69.95. Fits under vette.
The only draw back is its a little short to stick under the front cross member in that I can't start pumping the arm unless I drive up on 2x4's first. But it fits nicely in back and under the jacking pucks.
Hope you didn't toss your old one. I've found instances where I've used them both.
..rickko..
VIP, one tone, 3 3/4", scissors jack. Less than $60.00, comes in a case (flashlight included) fits in the back nicely. And it runs on 12 volts. Sweet!
Well that's fine and dandy but, you can't use it for big jobs. What you have is just a tire changing jack. I also have a small light weight mercedes jack I keep in my car for that. But for safe oil changes, tire changes and major jacking, something bigger is needed. Hence the Sears jack.
