A friend is looking to buy an "old school" Corvette finished. I seem to remember hearing about a company that puts 58-62 bodies on C5 running gear. Was I dreaming? If someone knows of a website I can steer him towards it'd be appreciative. I'm hoping to convert him from his full race Eleanor replica.
Cannot recall the company's name, but they provide a C2 body on a C5 frame, including interior. Cost, with donor car, was in the $50k area. Not bad IMO.
You provide the donor car and they take care of the rest it's a class job. I'm having one done now it's going to be done next Friday. PM me and I'll send you some pictures but you can see it on the sight it's the first build on the list of ongoing projects
I'll be picking it up by next Friday and will post some pictures of the completed car.
My donor car is a 2001 vert it was dark blue with oak interior I kept the interior the same. Also put in a Pioneer AVIC N1 HU. I'm going to put some C5 badging and some 62 badging on it. You may have noticed that even though the original 62 does not have painted coves I opted to have mine painted. The car is actually 4" wider and 2" longer than a 62 and everything is original C5 except the body skins. The material they use is the same material used on the Mclearen's

They do good work-I saw their work at a show once. I also might know someone now, that might know the owner.
From: the GOCC are everywhere, even back from "band camp"
I saw a conversion some Boeing composite engineers did and didn't care for the proportions of the body; they altered the original '62 lines a bit. However this looks like fitting an original or reproduction body to a C5 frame. Hmm, have I found my next project? Like I have time, but sure would be fun. I think I need to look into this more.
