Default Visor Vanity Mirror?

The passenger side one was about to fall off...loose at the the top part. I glued and clamped it, but the only thing to glue it to was the fuzzy material of the visor. It sags less, but still sags. I flip the visors down to hold the windshield sun shield in place, so that's not helping it. How are these things originally attached?

I did the homelink install a year or so ago that involved opening up the visor at the seam. If memory serves me, the mirror assembly simply sits in a "cardboard" (Yes the General went all out) type of frame. Sounds like that frame has weakened. There is an excellent writeup in the Tech section about removal of the visor and homelink install. Grab those and you have a really good overivew of the assembly.

I had the same problem a couple of weeks ago. My daughter pulled down the visor and the vanity mirror snapped loose hanging by the wires.

It's held on by several plastic pins that fit (and I believe lightly glued) into the visor itself. The pins are less than 1/8" thick. If memory serves correctly, theres about three pins top and bottom and a couple on each side.

I got a replacement from Laura "tailights" here on the forum. I think you're better off replacing it.

Default visor

well,it's a relief to know that my 01 isn't the only one with visor issues, blinker issues, and like that!my pass.side visor got like that a month ago, haven;t replace it yet because nothing is as simple as it looks and with just a quick glance i can see i need to remove framulator and disconnect the perculator etc... and c5blackbeauty,you were right on time with the visor you sold me!!!thanks!so,getting back to reality here,i may see what crazy glue will do,or just take some time this weekend and replace it.oh,the driver side is now loose too! this really does feel like a race car with all these little things breaking/coming undone!!!i should be a master mechanic by the time i'm done w/this car!!

Not that I'm aware of.

Send her a PM. I got mine for $50.00 and it's like new.

Mine broke a couple of months ago. Ordered a new one from Fitchner for about $60. Replacing it took 5 minutes.
