Default Caught the mod bug

I have been avoiding spending any money for mods since I got the car, but I finally gave in. I have on order:

-Window Valet
-Pre-Cut Insulation Kit
-New Shifter, E-Brake and Armrest leather covers

I have been anguishing over getting the CLB, but I hate to not have a locking wheel on a Manual tansmission.

I need to work on the E-Brake as it isn't doing hardly anything now, so combining the E-Brake, insulation and the covers for the shifters all at once will be nice.

I am going to need to buy a bunch of Craftsman tools over the weekend for this, among the other stuff (spark plugs, etc..). Is there a tool kit that covers all of the major needs without getting the top kits?

When you get stranded somewhere (a matter of when, not if - as proven over and over again) you'll regret it Not to mention the really scary stories involving when the car is still in motion

Install it and forget about it - best $50 I have put towards my Vette, bar none

Don't forget to post pics after you get your new leather goodies!

For the most part, a basic tool set of sockets and wrenches will do the job for you. Good move getting the CLB - it will save you a lot of hassle. Good luck with the install of all the new parts.

If Gm has done the recall on the Column lock to an A4, is the CLB really worth getting???

As I understand it, the recall disengages the column lock for A4 since there is a lock on the shifter for security. For Manuals, they only turn off fuel in a lock situation and do not disable the column lock.

So there is no need for a CLB for an A4.
