If tight autoX/road courses favor small based vehicles, then how would something like a Ford GT or Ferrari F50 do on that kind of track?
The tighter the turns, the greater the advantage of the small wheelbase and light weight. The CRX, Lotus, or even MiniCooper would leave the Ford and Ferarri far behind in a tight slalom.
Do any of you stock C5ers have any experience racing E46 M3s? We were discussing this on a local board and one guy thought that a M3 would beat a C5 'all day long', but I think it would be more of a driver's race.
I think some people are confusing e36 M3 and e46 M3 that are faaar away from each other when it comes to performance !
My partner has an 02 SMG M3 vert with some work done to it (CAI, exhaust). This car does not compare to my car in any performance category BUT it is a lot of fun to drive. It is very well balanced (wish it were a true manual, though) My $0.02
Vette will win stock for stock, those beemers weigh more and have less power. 3700 lbs and 330 HP 04 M3
I disagree. While I love our cars the only thing we would beat an M3, stock for stock would be 1/4 times. Take it from someone who has driven both. Don't get me wrong, I love my car and would never trade it for an M3 but we have to give credit were credit is due. Those cars handle so good they make regular drivers look like great drivers!!!
I think I'd better move before I get hit for the above..........
