If I read the owner's manual correctly, the memory should retain climate control settings. Frequently when I start the car, the ventilation source (fresh air/interior recycled air) buttons do not stay at the setting I had when I left the car. Is that normal? Shouldn't it stay on the button I had sellected?
I've noticed this happens on my 02 as well. If you can make it remember inside/outside settings I haven't figured it out, it seems to have a mind of it's own as far as that setting goes (sometimes it wants inside sometimes outside)
the only thing I can figure is it over-rides that setting depending on the temperature outside (at least that's what it seems to do)
The car selects the air source depending on the temp of the car. If it is over I think 80+ then it selects the inside air until the car cools down. At least that is how mine works...
It's a bitch when a car is smarter that its driver...
By the way my 2K operated the same way... My Cad operates the same way... must be something that GM has developed to make the car more comfortable quicker...

Also, it depends on what key FOB you use.
Do you at times switch the FOB?
You can set all your personal settings and save them into memory.
If you had it set for 80 degrees, the car will automatically do whatever
it can to get you there and adjust accordingly.
