Don't know if this happened to anyone, but several days ago I thought I heard a squeak coming from the rear brakes. I stopped and applied the E-brake to make sure it wasn't dragging, but had no brake. It was like it was not even there.
I don't use the e-brake ever except for state inspection. As soon as I got home I broke the manuals out to see what was involved for repair. After studing for a few minutes, the book said after installing adjusters, cycle the brake 3 times.
Well I did that and the e-brake is functioning normal.
For those of you, like me that don't use the brake, you may want to do this once in a while.
I had to remove the wheels and a caliper brackets and remove the rotors. Then adjust the star wheel manually to get my e-brake to work properly. Now it works great even on a hill which before it was useless.
