Default Hurst shifter

Hi,
I just installed my hurst shifter and i love the short throw!, but i find it kind of "hard" to shift. I was wondering if anybody has changed the springs in thiers? If so was it hard to do and or did it make it "easier" to shift. Thanks in advance for any help

Chaning the spring is fairly simple, However I love it stiff. You might get used to it... You just remove the two bolts on top and change the springs, it's a straight forward job!

Thanks!!! I really like it. it might take me a week or two to warm up to it. I still find it a little hard to shift. Going to switch the springs and see how it feels.

I thought mine was too stiff also,

I had the stock **** on there until I could find a **** I liked, I ended getting a cheaper one off of ebay just to try in the interim, its a little higher and it made a world of difference, shifts awesome now. Looking for something just a little shorter in height right now though.

Paid a whopping $.01 for it and $6 shipping and handeling.

I put the softer springs in on the right side, so reverse is easier to get into. You can even take two of the innner springs out of each side, there are four springs total in the shifter. The best thing to do is get some weights and bulk your arms up. Finally a real shifter for the car. Girliemen don't drive sport's cars.

I was going to change springs to lighter ones when i first installed it, but now it's perfect. Either the springs eased up a bit from use, or my arm got used to it.

Run it for a month as is, and see what you think after that. FWIW i'm using a round momo shift **** (air leather i think).

I thought mine was too much effort at first, too. The springs do lighten up a tad (or you get used to it). The thing I did instead of swapping springs was to change the crappy stock **** for a sweet MoMo SuperAnatomico shift ****.
