I've had my Halltech Stinger on the Z for close to 2 months. I've had to reset the lean code 4 times. I'll have the code cleared, and it comes on 2 weeks later. The problem could be, that once the code's cleared i don't drive it enough, so the computer can relearn the new info. I've been told maybe some adjustments to the fuel system. Like some higher flow injectors, or a fuel preasure regulator? Any help is appreciated. Thanks.
It is well known among Z06 owners in this forum that many high-flow intakes produce lean codes. The culprit appears to be the lack of an MAF screen. Coupes and verts rarely have the same issue unless an unsuspecting owner removes the MAF screen. You have two options, it seems:
1) Have your car tuned to compensate for the added air flow through the MAF or
2) Get ahold of a screened MAF, although you may still have to get a tune, anyway.
You may also want to post this issue in the Z06 section. I believe there was mention of this problem in Halltech's website, as well.
i installed stinger about 2 weeks ago on my 04 Z06 and Halltechs web site says that 02-04 Z06s may need reprogramming, my check engine is just goin on and off. gotta get it tuned, one member said to check connections after MAF and that maybe i overtightened something so i'll try that first, otherwise off to A&A for a tune.
