[Z06] High coolant temp?

High coolant temp?
Hey All, Ok its 58* outside the cars ideling in traffic and the temp rises up to 230* cools down to 220* then at speed it cools down to 193* is this normal? The car seems to have a slight shake to it while ideling is normal? Sorry for all the dumb questions....I drive a Dodge diesel and it smokes, shakes and rattles your teeth out....Thanks

Depending on your mods. you could install a 160 degree thermostat and if you have any access to tuning or own a hand held, you could bring your fans on earlier. My fans are programmed to come on at 185 degrees. On a 58 degree day, my car runs between 172-176 degrees on the highway. I have done other mods. to allow more air through the engine compartment. Most of my air comes in under the nose, and my air filter is a bottom feeder type custom blackwing mod. I do have some pictures of this mod. if anyone is curious about what I've done.
