Not sure about the avatar. Don't use one. Never got around to it. To post a pic, use an image hosting site. Copy the URL and hit the "insert picture" button. Paste the URL in the little pop-up and click O.K. It is inserted into the text area.

Welcome.
Try http://photobucket.com/ for hosting your images.
It's free and easy and after downloading your pics each pic will have a URL (web address of the image) you then use the image address to post or place in your sig.

Example; Here's the URL (address) to my sig image.
http://members.***.net/lyerton/467.JPG

Good Luck!

The photo will need to be "hosted" somewhere on the internet such as a personal web page, a photo hosting service, or even here on the forum. There is an area here on the forum to submit and upload your photo(s).

After the picture has been hosted, you can rick click the mouse over the picture and go to properties. When you find the address http://...
place this address between the URL tags in your sig.

I hope that this helps.
