I HATE getting dirt on it too, and every morning all the neighbors have their sprinklers on and I drive 2 mph through the neighborhood to avoid splash up. Here's my trick though!
I bought a bottle of Speed Shine from Griot's Garage (check out their website). It is the MOST awesome detailing spray I have ever used and I've washed my entire care with it before, without any swirl marks or scratches. It is a fantastic lubricant for a clay bar and is awesome for touching up the car in between washes. It contains no waxes or residue builders and leaves the paint beautiful and smooth. I would recommend it to anyone! Griot's has tons of great car care stuff, I'm just now experimenting with some of their things. Have fun washing!!
Hmmm. I was looking at the Griot's stuff. Have you ever tried Meguiars Detailing Spray? I'm just wondering how they compare.
whenever it gets dirty... After a quick drive, I use my california duster. After a long night drive where every bug in site sticks to my bumper, I get it done that evening...
I swear I saw that it's against the rules to drive a vette dirty. I was mine when it's dirty. Sometimes that's every time I drive it. Right now the car vert is clean except for the wheels. I installed Sportbrakes last weekend and now I've got zinc everywhere. I heard that they make a mess while the zinc wears off the fire path but it's much worse than I imagined.
Funny story:
My neighbor has a 3 year old son and he got a little battery operated vette for his birthday. Now when he sees me washing my car, he gets his mother to help him bring his little vette out with a bucket and rag and cleans his too. Never too young.
