I have recently put these tires on my rear wheels and I am running the KUMHO ASX on the front. These KUHMO MXs are AWESOME!
I have been to the track on two different occasions and thesetires have given me no traction issues and the are such a great ride on the highway and other roads! I couldn't be more pleased!
Kuhmo's are a great tire for the $$ and they come in a lot of sizes. I run 265x35x18 and 295x35x18's. A lot more traction with the 295. These are on wider rims.
Just got chrome thin spokes and put the MXs all around. From going to these from the Run Flats, what an awesome ride. So quiet and smooth. MX is a great tire and my biggest concern was more on how it would look as compared to the Run Flat by the sidewall. Tires look great and run great.
Do you guys running Kumhos do burnouts? Seriously, I've got less than 5K miles on these tires and the rears are shot - I mean bald, bald, bald. I haven't smoked 'em more than 5 times (and not very impressively, either). Hmmmm....coming to think of it, my attempts at burnouts are rather comical - smoking 'em is a waaaaay over-statement.
I am going to get me some MX tires to replace my worn out front MX tires. Gotta love them. For such a soft compound tire they last pretty decent. I got almost 30K out of the fronts that are on there now. The rears have 20K on them and still looking great.

I have found that Kuhmos get REAL sticky when hot. On the track you will literally get balled rubber that remelts into the tire by the end of the session...
They get soft when hot which maximizes static friction between the tire and the road surface. After all that's what they're intended for. Sooo.... I can imagine a situation where if one does burnouts, that the tire will wear quite quickly.
I have two DE weekends on my Kuhmos and the wear looks fantastic. And I push them to the point of singing in every corner...I've been very impressed with grip and wear versus price and street manners.
I looked into the Kumos and found that Tire rack survey lists thePirlelli Zero's a lot higher in all categories. As far as pricing, the Pirellis were $46 more, total for all four , yes, $46 more, total for all four at Discount Tire. So, I ordered the Pirellis.
Well I need something fast after deployment and SEARS didn't have the MX in stock and everywhere I called I had to back order them for at least a week, some more.
After reading more about the ASX and the rating was a 4 star out of 5, I like the all season on the ASX mainly for braking purposes. When they are shot, I will be putting MXs all the way around.

Not bad...we all have are likes and dislikes and I have been a KUMHO man since I had my 1999 Z28 and that makes me a KUMHO man for over 4 years.
this is not intended to sound like a judgement on anyone's driving practices since vettes are made to be driven, but given what tires cost on a vette, those who choose to do burnouts may well have more dollars than sense. bub

Yeah, I figured I'd spawn a comment or three like that. Whatever. Maybe SOME people didn't realize how sticky Kumhos were when they purchased them. Maybe SOME people ran with Firehawks before and didn't have a problem with seemingly undue wear. Maybe SOME people were ignorant as to tire choice. Doesn't mean they lack sense. Sorry I mentioned it.
