So, I'm not sure how it is in the rest of the country, but my county absolutely loves to chip seal roads in order to "prolong their operational life". Within the next several weeks, my neighborhood, and about 2 square miles surrounding my neighborhood, the county highway district will be chip sealing the roads. As soon as I got notice, I immediately thought, "Great. I won't be able to drive my Vette for a month after they do it." I think it's going to be best to wait for a week, but do any of you have any experiences/insight as to how long to wait? I've driven on freshly chipsealed roads in the past, but a neighborhood that I've lived in has never been done while I lived in it.
I'm not sure exactly what chip-sealing is but if it is what I am thinking it is they did this to my favorite section of twisty country roads. I used to love taking the bike out there. I didn't even know they were going to do it until one day, all pumped for a fun ride, I get out there to find the road all covered with sort of loose gravel and gunky tarlike crap... how annoying.

I would avoid the roads for atleast a week If the chips have sufficiently settled by the end of that week, then I would consider taking the vette out.
But, try to drive in the "ruts" to avoid any more loose gravel.
