While cleaning up my '03 yesterday, I noticed the windshield is not quite so perfect anymore. It is pretty much pitted up. Lots of little tiny pits pretty much evenly distributed over the windshield.
I am at about 30K miles, daily driver but not harsh driving (dirt roads, construction area... etc).
I am thinking the unusually low angle of the windshield lets road debris glance off where maybe it can actually do more damage (on a small scale) than if the same particle just hit straight on.
Looks like at some point in the future I will replace the windshield as if I lived in Colorado (notorious for pitted glass) instead of Florida.
I recall reading (on the Forum) of others having this issue. From what I recall they had glass experts come to their location and 'sand/refinish' the glass by some process.
Might want to do a search - or call a local vehicle car window group.

I heard of the same thing, my DD looks like the windshield was sand blasted and I got a small stone chip on the Vette when new last year. I just have not had the time to call a glass shop to see what can be done.

Same thing with my windshield. And I take care to never drive behind dumptrucks, or any big trucks for that matter. Never drive on gravel roads either. Must have some strong bugs up here to cause all that pitting...
Odd timing on this topic, I just noticed my own problem with the windshield last night for the first time and was wondering what to do... still don't know... just "odd" timing.
