Default Something is really wrong!!

I was doing some highway driving with my bro and I was shifting into forth and then all of the sudden I heard this noise like I over revved the car and then the car bogged down hard and it said abs active. I don't know if I accidentally shifted into 2nd or not but as soon as i put it back in gear my car started driving horribly like an old 50's ford. When I press on the gas I get barely any power at all!! It feels like i've lost a cylinder of power or more. I thought i might have thrown a spark plug. Maybe thrown a rod but then when I came to a complete stop the car will shut off. I have to pop the clutch to get the car moving again. I hope it's not the transmission. It drives like it has an exhaust leak and when I accelerate (not much) the gas pedal vibrates. Does anyone have any clue what's going on????? Please Help!!

You may want to pull the codes and see what the computer thinks is wrong. The guys in the Tech section may be able to assist with the meanings of the codes...

It's easy! Just open up the DIC above your steering wheel. You will see a string with all the codes attached to it. Reach in with your hand and pull it out!

j/k kiddin brutha! See ptdrummers' post!

Good luck!

Sounds like you did the old “3rd to 2nd when you meant to go into 4th” move. It’s very easy to do with the stock shifter.

You may have bent a pushrod or two. This would cause the engine to “miss”. Hopefully you did not bend a valve or something more serious.

Check to push rods. You will probably find that one (or more) is bent.

you're too young to drive a vette, go buy a 50's ford or something.

pull codes, after that...go to a shop you trust, see what they say..

That's just wrong.....but darn funny.

Sorry to hear about the problem.
Just turn the car to on, but don't start it, wait a couple sec. then push and hold in the "options" button and hold it in while you hit the very top button 4 times in a row.
That should pull up your diagnostic, you can play around with it after that, I think they install PacMan on the newer models.
