Steering column lock bypass kit for all 1997-2004 Corvettes
This bypass will eliminate the problem with the steering column locking up
The kit includes bypass box, harness and connector, instructions and everything you need to install
Also includes a 12 Volt adapter, which is necessary to disable the lock before installing the bypass box. The adapter is no longer needed after the bypass box has been installed.
Purchase now and avoid being stranded because you start your Corvette and have the steering column lock and can't turn the wheels

Got mine from COH couple weeks ago, installation was easy, less than 30 minutes, just with '04 did not need to turn on ignition, as described in the installation instructions, to unlock Column Lock as my accessory plug is hot. Like having the peace of mind from not worrying if I'll get stranded due to column lock.
It affects automatics from 1997-2000
and all manuals.
If you have an auto take it to the dealer to have the recall done. If you have a manual buy the column lock bypass and install it, do not take it to the dealer because they do not fix the locking mechanism problem. end of story

OK...Help me out..I just got a recall notice today from Chevrolet.
I bought my Vette last Sept. I have never had a problem, or did the previous owner...It's a 98 A4 with 40K on it.
What does the dealer do to fix the problem..?
Should I tell the Dealer to get bent, and get the by-pass kit..?
