Default Problem: CAGS Skip Shift not Working

Went to put one of these on my friend's 99 Vert and noticed that the keying on the connector for the CAGS Skip Shift was not the keyed the same way as the connections for the car.

Is it possible that I un-plugged the wrong connection (driver's side of the tranny), or are there different versions of the electrical connector?

Has anyone else run into this issue, and what did you do to solve it?

If I recall there may be two connectors back there on the driver's side - I'd be sure you've got the right one...

The CAGS connector is towards the back of the tranny. There are not any differences in the connectors between years that I know of. I know my CAGS eliminator worked on both my '99 and '00.

I've never met or known anyone that had a problem installing a CAGS eliminator.

Just follow GrayC5s link to 97Vette.com and you can't go wrong If it takes you more than six minutes to install, you're wasting time that you could be having a brew.

ps...scope out the rest of the stuff on 97vette.com. The Man has a LOT of good info and how-to's there

I just put one in and it was easy. I noticed on the CAGS harness that it is labeled "skip." I figured I had the right one.

Haha! That's because you never met me!

My Corvette was so new to me that I didn't know it had a transaxle. I was looking for the connector where I thought the transmission should be, just behind the engine! All the instructions said slide under the car on the driver's side. But they didn't say, 'in front of the rear wheel'.

Boy I sure felt foolish asking if someone could tell me where the transmission was!

Don't feel foolish at all I've been driving Vettes for thirty+ years and each time I bought one from the "next generation" it sent me back to the drawing board to learn all the new stuff. There's probably not a day that goes by that I don't learn something else about the C5s.

I boning up on the new C6 in preparation of getting one of those eventually.

Is the resistor contained within the cable portion of the CAGS skip shift eliminator, which plugs into the tranny cable.

And, therefore the small plug(Blue and white) which plugs into the tranny, just a weather seal?
