it is, no doubt... but how about this for the "veterans" of the forum

Instead of posting worthless things like

"this is a dupe, use the search engine moron, its easy"

Just post something like this:

" A simple search will give you your answer, look: http://forums.corvetteforum.com............."

Help the person out instead of wasting our time

and like I said in the original post... I am sure I can get every bit of hard facts somewhere else on the net, or on the sticky's or somewhere similar.. that is not the point of posting here... at least not for me...

It would be great if someone that knows how to use the search.. or has miraculous powers to make that POS actually work, can post a link to a thread instead of saying.. "you dumb SOB.. use the search tool"

in the same amount of time it took to post that, the same person.. according to that person.. could have looked up the post and then helped the thread out, or the original poster...

uhhh..

I have read that post about 20 times... still lost as to what your saying..can you rephrase!?
Hmmm. Okay let me try again. Your complaining about the response (type/style) a member posts. Your calling those kind of posts... crap and crud. You don't like them. You don't see why people post them. You are therefore suggesting restrictions on what a forum member can post. Clear? No one likes to be told what they can and can't post. Thats why we have mods on here to keep the content free flowing but within the boundaries set. Don't like it? There are other forums.

Uhhh... what are you talking about... I'm not suggesting restrictions on posts... Im suggesting that people don't waste our time by posting worhtless comments... either answer the question, help by showing the original poster where to find that answer, or don't post anything... simple theory that grandma used to tell us:

if you don't have something nice or usefull to say, don't say anything at all..

I really don't know where you are getting your idea

You are therefore suggesting restrictions on what a forum member can post. Clear? No one likes to be told what they can and can't post.
I don't really think you read my whole post... so I have this to say:

Now see, I disagree with you somewhat. The search is is a PITA to use and does not return all the results you want (like "find all posts by EG in the last week" returns about 3 threads... ) but with persistence, it can work for you.

We should all start by searching in the right forum (that helps) and searching the archives (that definitely helps)

Anyway, 2 cents deposited. I'm outta here
