Default Why do people post crud like this!?!?!

How many times is this same question going to be asked? Please use the search option.
or
This has been asked 100000 times... why can't people learn to use the Search engine!!!
Or other similar BS

I don't understand why people post crap like this... If you don't want to post something helpfull, don't post at all... I thought that part of the Corvette Forum was interacting with fellow corvette enthusiasts....

I'm pretty well sure that every corvette question in the history of man kind has been asked and answered here at one point or another... so therefore it is a waste of time for anyone to post solely for that reason... But thats not the only reason.. When I sit down on this forum, I (being quite a big loser) enjoy interacting with other corvette owners... I like when people react and respond to my specific question... I can do a search on the internet and on this forum all day long, and probably come up with any answer... but I don't because of the above reason.

When people just post comments in the threads... like "These wheels rock!"...........why is it that people don't say....

"This has been posted before, we have all seen those wheels in previous posts, your car is no different, just use the search engine and you can see the other wheels without wasting our time"

That is the same thing.

Because I'm sure when someone posts "look at my new MY corvette"

We have ALL seen an IDENTICAL car... but that is not the point... we all enjoy talking to each other about corvettes and seeing other peoples corvettes.. that is what this forum is for... and it really peves me that people post crap like

etc....

because EVERY single post is Dupe... EVERY SINGLE ONE!! And for the people that post crap like this... get over yourselves.. there are other forum members that havn't seen this post before. Just cuz you have absolutely no life and spend every waking hour on this forum, doesn't mean the next guy is the same... And I am certain that a duped question that is asked, will bring up topics that some people didn't think about before, and wouldn't even think to do search on... so it benefits them... So by you guys / gals posting "This is dupe!" or some crap... THAT is a waste of a lot of peoples time, reading your worthless response... Most of the posts where someone says its a dupe, I have never seen... and a lot of other people havn't either...

I don't come on here solely for straight information on a topic... and if you don't like to talk to other people, and the sole purpose of your visit to CV.com is to get the info, and leave... fine, you do that, but don't **** on people that want to interact...

Thank you.. I was hoping that someone else shared some of these thoughts

And yes, I know the inevitable posts like:

This is a dupe!
and:

are coming... so I just want to beat everyone to the punch...

but thats ok, because those kind of posts are meant as a joke.. and that... is still interacting... so post away with that kind of stuff on a thread like this... I still enjoy it...!!

Part of the fun is passing on and learning new stuff. This is a forum, not a library.

Not quite sure why you're ranting so much. The other side of the argument is that when some start imposting their "restrictions" well intentioned or not the Forum is lost. You're complaining about someone elses "style" of posting some might say is a way of restricting content that you don't like.

I do agree with you that the interaction of the forum members is the best. I get a kick out of a lot of the threads as much as I benefit from the knowledge sharing.

PS: We should all use the Search feature more.....

Sometimes doing a search will yield tons more information..and often more accurate...on some of the basic questions and procedures.

I've seen tons of the same stuff over the years but don't complain about what others post. Often subjects that are fairly worn get ignored by many because of the numerous repeat posts asking the same thing....therefore the person asking gets a very limited response which may not even be accurate. So how does that help them?? I've seen so much stuff posted that is just plain wrong that it's not funny.

Doing a "search" will give you a much broader perspective of the issue in question much of the time. Most of us don't have a problem using the "search" feature...that is what it's there for...to get information. The issues regarding the CLBs are a perfect example.

IMHO, the "Use the Search engine" replies are primarily because on just the first page, you will see 3 of the SAME QUESTION asked in 3 different threads. If the poster just spent a few moments reading the first couple of pages of the forum, they would probably find their answer. If they used the search function, they would probably not just get the answer, but a lot of insight from past threads on the same subject.

So... that's why to see the Deadhorse and "Search first" replies, I think.

There's no doubt that the search engine is a good tool to use, im not saying people should blindly post a thread without looking something up first... especially if a thread has recently been started about it...

Mine mainly applies to threads that are started that havn't really been touched on in the last few days... so there are none in the first few pages... People post a questions, and then get replys like above.. or ones that state "this was asked two weeks ago, use search engine" or something of that nature... if an identical post is on the first page of the thread listing.. by all means... yank your head out your **** and go through the posts... but beyond that... let the interaction begin... and who cares how many times its been posted in the past

Now excuse me, I have to leave this thread whilest I type up my next one..

"Which exhaust is the best"

I won't say that it's perfect by any stretch...but I've learned to get the best out of it that I can.
