water pump and thermostat
water pump went out. so i have chevy dealer put a new one on,but they changed my 160 thermostat to a stock one. took the car back and they could not put the 160 back in they said its to big . i think that they are pulling my leg. what do you guys think. they gave me back my out thermostat,i do not think it is the same one. it says motorad germany. i thought only hypertech made them for ls1 motors. thanks. steve.

Sounds like they replaced your water pump with an 04 model which uses a simpler thermostat without the housing. You'll need to purchase a 160 thermostat for an 04 if that's the case. The only upside is that the 04 thermostats are about $20 instead of $55 like the other years.
