Absolutely do not take it in for the recall after you install the CLB. All they will do is reprogram your computer so it will shut down your fuel supply if the gremlins ever take over. I, too, have an '02 and I installed the CLB myself and later when I had to take mine in for warranty repair of the leaking rear axle they asked me about doing the CL recall and I simply refused it. They asked me to sign the warranty invoice showing that I had refused the recall. It was simple to refuse!

I am scheduled to have the recall work done tomorrow. I ordered the clb kit on yesterday. i hope i am doing this right. any suggestions

Now you can sleep at night. Just installed mine last summer even though I had no problems. Better safe than sorry.

I have an extended warranty but I was not about to get stranded for some simple preventive work I could do. Also for us Manual cars, even if GM paid for the tow, the fix would not prevent wheel from locking again.
