Our condolences to you. We have three chihuahuas that are like our children and have lost others before them. The joy they bring is far greater than the sorrow we suffer when we lose them.
Yesterday, I was just about to go out to do a extensive detailing of my 2004 CE. Before starting I notice my 10yr old golden retriever Kessie did not look well. My wife and I rushed her to the emergency vet only to lose her 6 hours later to a fast and aggressive cancer that had gone undetected until then. She was a great dog and will be missed deaply.
Sorry to hear of your loss. We lost our Bobby to congestive heart failure this past March. We had taken him from the shelter just 2 years before.
He was a pain in the *** sometimes, but a good dog nontheless and is still sorely missed.

Heck I will admit it I am a sucker for kids and dogs. I am reading these posts and I am getting wimpy. (tearful) I can't stand to see them hurt.
I was a dog handler in the service so I know the bravery and loyalty these and all dogs have in them. I read somewhere that the only thing in life that was truly free was a dogs love for his master. Anyway sorry for your loss I do feel your pain.
I have had 2 Labs that are now in Doggy Heaven. They got old and I had to put them down. I now have another Lab whose health is starting to fail. I hate the sheet, but I love Dogs, so I will continue to particpate in dog recues.

Pets are tough, they are definitely part of the family. We lost our Golden to cancer at only 2 years old. We now have a chocolate lab that just turned 8.
So sorry for your loss.
We lost our beautiful Golden recently. His name was Larry! He loved the ocean and tennis *****. We buried him with a new can of tennis ***** to take with him. One of the worst days of my life when he took his last breath in my arms. We went right out and got a 7 week old golden pup and named him Billy. He will celebrate his 2nd birthday this month. We love him and miss Larry. I can't imagine not having a Golden around. Go out and get one and start building some new memories! I know how much this hurts!
As many have said, it is a particularly difficult time, but as time passes it will get easier. Hang in there. I ran across this years ago and have lived up it. Hope you can find some humor and sense of purpose from these phrases

We may all well-up just a bit, because so many of us have been there before. Good luck and Gods Speed in greif recovery.
Thank you to everyone who sent their condolences. I am truly amazed at the amount of support from everyone in the Corvette family. Many of you have mentioned getting another dog. Luckily, we have two other Goldens and a Bernese Mountain Dog.
Truly a sad time. My wife & I have 3 "boys" We also lost 2 of our beloved Pomeranians a couple of years back. One had heart problems & actually was scheduled for heart surgery but died the evening before we were to leave for Colorado. We now have 2 "new" boys and our pound dog "Henry" who is now blind at 11 years of age. Dogs are simply the best....I'm sorry for your loss
My wife and I would like to express our sympathy to you and all the others who recently lost their pets. We too lost one of our dogs a few years ago and we both even dream about her to this day.

Well up????? Some who know me , know me as somewhat of a hard guy, but after reading that and thinking of our Bobby, it was hard to only "well up."
This thread isn't about me or my dog, but the original poster and his. But I thank you for that post just the same. It really touched my heart.
