Default 252 degrees coolant temp-Help

Temps in Las Vegas today reached 214....and my reading hit 252 degrees in traffic....Once i got to higher ground dropped to 235-237 degrees....Drops a bit lower if i don't run the air....I am running a 160 degree thermostat and Predator....Dealership wants me to bring it in...Not that crazy about doing that cause i will have to clear the Predator tune...About two weeks ago i took a water hose to the front of the radiator....But, not to the area around the fans.... nothing visible came of the radiator, any ideas would be appreciated...thanks in advance....Dell

Good link above. All sorts of stuff can be sucked up into the radiator area and cause air flow problems. Try cleaning that area out and see if it helps.

The temperature should drop when you turn on the AC because this kicks on the fans. I had the same problem with my 2000 Vert. Come to find out that the electric fan fuse had blown. Put in new fuse and temperature is back to normal range. Fan runs so quietly it is hard to know if it is on.

At that temp. both fans should be on with or without the a/c.

I do a lot of road race track days. So I clean my radiator out before each weekend with a high pressure air hose.

Here is a pic. The floor was swept clean before I did the radiator.

This is from ONE weekend and 300 or so miles.
