If the weld breaks on the cat side it could be under warranty I think the Emissions warranty from the factory is 8 / 80 or something like that it's longer then the regualt 3/36 warranty. I can't remmber but the cat assembly is one piece and the cats are considerd part of the emissions system. something worth looking into. May get a new cat or repaired at no cost, just contact a dealer and ask couldn't hurt.
