Is there any reason to add just an x-pipe. I suppose it will get rid on the annoying exhaust jingle, but as to performance, and to a lesser extent sound, is it worth the $225 to add a Corsa x-pipe only?

If you ever plan on doing headers, I would wait because some (most?) of the long-tube header packages come with an X-pipe. I know my LGM set-up came with one.
Anyway, I personally wasted a couple hundred on a Magnaflow X-pipe prior to acquiring the headers and it didn't do much. It did get rid of the exhause jingle, but, contrary to what some might say, had no impact on deceleration popping. Sound wise, there seemed to be a little more resonance than with the H-pipe. Power wise, little if any change.

had one put on by ed hanson of san diego-he does custom ones -very simple-cost $150 for x-pipe and installl-sounds great with my b&b prts's
less popping and smoother..
Agree with above. If you are going for headers at some point just wait. I got a Bassani X used for $150 that eliminated the cats, picked up 12-15 rhwp, better sound. Money well spent, but now it's hard to justify $1100 for headers for mebbe another 10 rwhp. ;-)
